Dear students, parents, and guests,
As per tradition, we would like to dedicate the first day of the school year to a charitable cause that will mark the beginning of the year with the solidarity of our community.
For the second year, we invite you to support the “Generation” program in their care for 9 children aged 7-15 from the “Detelina” Family-Type Placement Center and 14 youths aged 16-18 from the municipal transition homes in the Gorna Banya neighborhood.
Growing up without parents, these 24 children and young people rely on the community’s care to meet their basic material needs related to school, as well as to gain access to specialized training, professional development, and mentoring care from volunteer parents.
Over the past year, the program team has demonstrated their dedication to the challenging task of making an uncertain and daunting future more understandable and hopeful for the children. Some parents in our community have also taken on the challenge of standing by some of these young people as mentors and supportive adults, and they will continue to do so in the coming year.
Once again, let our students show their respect for their teachers with a warm greeting and a hug, and let’s replace the flowers with donations, which will be collected in designated boxes at the school.
