The BioBliss student company has won the Innovation Award from EIT Manufacturing at the prestigious Vienna Marketplace 2025 competition!

Just before the start of major entrepreneurship competitions in Bulgaria and Europe, our BioBliss team, developing button-type batteries made from organic waste, participated in the Open European Competition Vienna Marketplace 2025, organized by JA Austria as part of the JA Europe network. The event took place from March 14-16, and our participation was made possible thanks to our longstanding partnership with JA Bulgaria!

The team’s hard work paid off, earning them the well-deserved “Innovation” award from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Manufacturing). Sofia Nikolova (11A), Viktoria Koleva (11A), and Alexandra Klyaneva (11C) delivered an impressive and memorable presentation, which, in addition to the award, led to multiple partnership offers for further project development. With the support of their teammates Viktoria Alexieva (11B), Anna Moneva (11A), and mentor Nelina Stankova (12A), they created a remarkable exhibition booth and fully immersed themselves in the experience of a competition of this scale.

The project’s success is rooted in months of dedicated effort by the students and the strong collaboration with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and its Institute of Electrochemistry and Energy Systems. It also reflects the interdisciplinary approach at our school, bridging Entrepreneurship, Natural Sciences, IT, and English Language training.

Beyond the competition, the team gained valuable experience, built meaningful connections, and enjoyed warm hospitality in rainy Vienna. A special thank you to our alumna Milena Terzieva, who not only shared her expertise and guidance from past competitions but also gave us a wonderful tour of Vienna’s historic center!

Stay tuned – we’ll soon take a behind-the-scenes look at our students’ innovative journey! 🚀
