On 11 May, we opened Perspective – the first student photography exhibition in the history of Prof. Ivan Apostolov Private Language High School. The exhibition, hosted by the Pressphoto Club, brought together students, parents, teachers, alumni, and friends of the school. The interest in the event was so overwhelming that the venue could not accommodate all of our guests.
The exhibition demonstrated the remarkable creativity and artistic vision within our school community. It featured 49 photographs by 29 student photographers, showcasing landscapes, portraits, wildlife, architecture, details, and artistic photography. Together, these works transformed the gallery into a vibrant collection of unique perspectives and emotions.
The exhibition was entirely organized and curated by the students from the Photography and Journalism Club. They carefully explored different layouts and compositions, discussing each photograph, its colors, and the way the images would “speak” to one another until every piece found its perfect place.
Many of the photographs and exhibition catalogues were sold to help fund future photography exhibitions. More importantly, however, the exhibition gave our students the opportunity to see their work appreciated, valued, and displayed on someone else’s wall. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who supported them by purchasing their artwork.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the Pressphoto Club for generously providing the exhibition space free of charge and once again supporting a student creative initiative. Encouraging young talent is invaluable.
We would also like to thank the travel agency Across Europe, represented by our colleague and friend Sirma Lyoshevalie, for donating ten photography books as prizes to inspire our young photographers in their creative journeys.
We are equally grateful to Novinata.bg for covering the exhibition and for becoming the first to purchase one of the photographs—Darina Krasteva’s image, which became the face of the exhibition and was featured on both the official poster and the exhibition catalogue.
If Perspective has inspired even one student to continue creating and developing their artistic talent, then the exhibition has fulfilled its purpose. Thank you to everyone who visited during the three-day event. The exhibition will continue to be displayed in our school corridors until the end of the school year, after which the purchased photographs will find their new homes with their proud owners.
