With inspiration, we’re sharing a heartwarming moment from the days leading up to Christmas: our 10th-grade “D” class students along with their teacher Marina Clarkson brought smiles to elderly people in need in the village of Sredorek, Kyustendil region! They delivered essential goods, Christmas gifts and cheerful smiles.
Learn more about their experience through the words of one of the students, Alan Darsemli:
“It was so nice to see how kind the people were but it was also very sad to see the conditions they live in—and yet, they were all happy and didn’t complain. They were incredibly excited to see us since they don’t often see young people—I’m sure we made their day brighter! In almost every house, the people gave us something—homemade juice, bags of walnuts, cake, or soft drinks. We all felt very grateful for the things and opportunities we have, which most people living in rural areas in Bulgaria don’t. I hope this post draws attention and maybe inspires others who see it to do something similar!”
