Prof. Ivan Apostolov Foreign Language High School is launching a new series of meetings with inspiring guests as part of the initiative “From the School Classroom to the International Stage – the World of Diplomacy”, implemented in partnership with the team of Novinata.bg.

The first meeting will take place on February 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the Interactive Classroom and is intended for 11th grade students, who will be excused from their regular classes.

The aim of the initiative is to give students the opportunity to meet diplomats from different countries, experience diverse cultures, and gain first-hand insight into the diplomatic profession – its responsibility, mission, and importance in today’s world. We believe that meeting inspiring professionals helps young people make informed choices, discover their paths, and, above all, dare to dream.

Our first guest will be
His Excellency Mr. Mehmet Sait Uyanık,
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Bulgaria.

His Excellency Mehmet Sait Uyanık is a diplomat with more than two decades of professional experience in the Turkish diplomatic service. Appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bulgaria in 2024, he has held key positions related to foreign policy, European and international relations, and multilateral diplomacy.

Born in Istanbul in 1976, he graduated from the prestigious Pierre Loti High School. He studied law at Robert Schuman University in France and later obtained a master’s degree from the College of Europe in Bruges.

Throughout his career, he has served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Consul General in Geneva, and Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Türkiye to the United Nations in Geneva. He has also worked at Türkiye’s Delegation to the European Union and at the Embassy of Türkiye in Algeria.
